How did your flowers arrive?

Hatboxes, ceramic arrangements and baskets are arranged in water-retaining floral foam and should stay intact. Vase and hand-tied flowers can be unwrapped, re-cut and refreshed in clean water. Select your style for the correct care routine.

Hatbox care

Water the foam, not the flowers.

Your florist has already designed every stem in place. Keep the arrangement intact and add a small amount of fresh water between the flowers so the hidden floral foam remains moist.

Your Hatbox, step by step.

Use a narrow-spout jug, bottle or small cup. Pour slowly so water reaches the foam without splashing petals or marking the box.

Carefuly unbox the arrangement

Carefully lift the lid from the hatbox and avoid moving the flowers or greenery. Your florist has already arranged everything in the correct position, so the arrangement is ready to enjoy as received.

On arrival Protect the surface beneath the Hatbox. The box is decorative and should not be soaked.

Hatbox arrangement examples

Use this guide for styles like these.

Both examples arrive professionally arranged in water-retaining floral foam inside a decorative Hatbox. Keep every stem in place and add water slowly through a small gap between the flowers.

Extend flower life

The two-minute florist routine.

Whichever style you received, a quick daily check makes the biggest difference to how long your flowers last.

Each morning

Check vase and hand-tied water levels, or the floral-foam moisture in a Hatbox, ceramic or basket.

Every 2 days

For vase and hand-tied flowers: wash the vase, replace the water and re-cut the stems by a centimetre.

As needed

Remove faded flowers and yellowing leaves before they affect the rest of the arrangement.

Always

Keep flowers cool, shaded and away from fruit, heaters, direct sunlight and draughts.
